The hiring process has 4 phases:

International AI Governance Research Manager/Researcher

We are seeking a Research Manager/Researcher to support our research, which aims to strengthen international coordination on AI governance and improve global understanding of China’s AI safety developments. This position would be based in Singapore to support Concordia AI’s new Singapore presence.
Responsibilities
Conduct original research and writing on China’s AI safety and governance and ecosystem, international AI governance frameworks, and AI governance perspectives from Singapore and Southeast Asia. Previous examples include the State of AI Safety in China reports (Spring 2024, Fall 2023), the AI Safety in China newsletter, and our analysis of China's AI Safety Evaluations Ecosystem.
Provide concrete policy recommendations to feed into international organizations and major international summits, such as Concordia AI’s feedback on the UN AI Advisory Body Interim Report and Concordia AI’s participation at Global AI Safety Summits.
Support Concordia AI's growing presence in Singapore including our collaboration with Singapore's AI Verify Foundation and engagement with the local AI governance ecosystem.
Plan programs in Singapore to further international coordination on AI safety, such as Concordia AI’s forums at the 2024 World AI Conference and 2023 International AI Cooperation and Governance Forum.
Qualifications
Required
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as international relations, China studies, or AI/technology governance and at least 1-2 years of relevant working experience; or a graduate degree in a relevant field.
Professional Mandarin reading and listening skills.
Experience in writing and presenting English-language analyses of policy issues.
Willingness to work in Singapore for at least 50% of the year.
Preferred
Singaporean citizenship or permanent residence.
Experience writing on Chinese AI development and/or technical AI topics.
Ability to build strong networks with AI policy communities around the world.

As a Research Engineer, you will develop and run evaluations for safety assessment, testing, and product development of large language models, multimodal models, and agents. This position will be based in Concordia AI’s headquarters in Beijing, with openness for being based in Singapore for exceptional candidates. See more information in Chinese here.
Responsibilities
Safety Evaluation Research: Track latest advancements in foundation model safety research. Analyze potential threat models and risk thresholds of next-generation frontier models, and contribute to evaluation design and frameworks. Integrate cutting-edge domestic and international safety testing benchmarks, datasets, and methodologies into development.
Conduct Safety Evaluations: Participate in safety evaluations and red teaming of large models. Contribute to the development of evaluation datasets and iteration of testing methodologies. Identify safety risks, propose mitigation strategies, and write technical documentation and reports.
Evaluation Product Development: Responsible for the development of safety testing platforms and tools for large models. Participate in product planning, design, and testing, and manage project timelines.
Qualifications
Required
Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field and at least 1-2 years of relevant working experience; exceptional undergraduate candidates (e.g., those with first-author publications at top ML conferences) will also be considered.
Strong hands-on skills with the ability to rapidly iterate technical product prototypes. Proficient in Python; experienced with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch plus development tools like Jupyter Notebook and Docker.
Excellent collaboration skills. Familiar with using Git for version control and code collaboration, able to effectively manage code repositories, participate in code reviews, and collaborate on development.
Preferred
Experience in leading AI safety research or practices related to language models, such as adversarial attacks, prompt engineering, SFT, and RLHF.
Experience in scaffolding, prompting and/or evaluating large language models.
Experience in contributing to open-source projects.

Responsibilities
Financial Management. Oversee and manage cash flow, budgeting and accounting processes. Produce quarterly financial analyses and suggest financial controls to guide sustainable organizational growth. Manage regular financial processes such as payments, invoicing, and annual audits by liaising with external vendors.
Human Resources. Develop HR policies, support recruitment efforts, and help foster an inclusive and collaborative culture.
Risk Management & Compliance. Work with our external legal counsel to ensure regulatory compliance and develop risk management frameworks.
Operations & Office Management. Support office operations to maintain a productive and supportive environment for the team.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or above.
1-3 years of relevant work experience in the accounting, startup, or non-profit sectors.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to handle large amounts of data.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
